I am so glad I found this hidden gem in Flagstaff. It's a mobile kitchen serving Louisiana style Cajun and Creole cuisine. They have a different schedule every week where they go to various locations throughout Flagstaff and serve lunch or dinner.
Their food was unbelievably great! I had their Grand Bayou, which consisted of a 2 Meat Pie appetizers, a cup of Gumbo, a cup of Jambalaya, a cup of Shrimp Etouffee, and a cup of Red Beans & Rice along with complimentary bread.
To start off, their Meat Pie was very impressive. It was a tiny bite sized portion, but definitely makes you want more. The outer bread was slightly crispy, and the inside meat was extra savory with yummy spices. Very similar to an empanada, and just as delicious.
Their Gumbo was very hearty and flavorful. The okra, onions, rice, sausage, and chicken were cooked perfectly tender, and the soup mixed well with the bread.
I must rave about their jambalaya! It has a mouth-watering juicy texture that led to an amazing experience on my first bite. The spices and seasoning used truly made a delicious mix of rice, chicken, and sausage.
Their Red Beans & Rice creation (with the addition of hot sauce) was incredibly fiery and filling to the stomach. It can taste a little plain, but it has a satisfying flavor.
Finally, their Shrimp Etouffee was a spicy, heavenly, and fulfilling dish with shrimp that was cooked just the right amount of time to maintain its texture and still be very tender. The sauce they used made the rice and shrimp taste even better together.
Overall, one of the best places in Flagstaff for food no doubt. You will be greeted by a really friendly couple, and I thought they had a reasonably priced menu. I would absolutely recommend anyone to try their incredible food. You will not be disappointed!
